Criteria for acquiring a work permit
Acknowledgment of your credentials by German authorities: In addition to providing documentation of your academic and professional credentials, applicants for jobs in Germany must have their professional abilities acknowledged by German authorities. This is especially important for regulated professions like teaching, nursing, and medicine. The German government maintains a webpage for this purpose.
German proficiency: You will stand out from the competition if you possess some level of the language. If you meet the requirements for work experience, education, and a working knowledge of German (B2 or C1), you stand a decent chance of landing a position here. However, proficiency in German is not necessary for specialized jobs like research and development.

The good news is that work in Germany does not require the IELTS.
On the other hand, the English language proficiency requirements could change based on the job. You will need to speak English well if your profession requires you to travel abroad.
Conversely, having a basic command of German will improve your chances of finding employment.
